Many of us know what it’s like to wake up the morning after a wild night with a bit too much alcohol. Flashbacks of the good times start seeping back into your memory. You danced on the bar, hit on someone shamelessly, tripped on the way out the door, and stole a cat on the way home. What? Like you’ve never accidentally stole a cat before? Puritan.
Craigslist, typically a marketplace for the bizarre and the inane, has also become an internet confessional. On August 31, a Craigslist poster decided to make good of his late night cat burglary. It seems that on the way home from a drunken night out, he happened across a frisky black cat and decided to rescue the little critter.
It wasn’t until the next morning that the hero realized the mistake. The cat had a collar and a name tag. Oops. The cat napper had also been feeding him cheese. Bigger oops. The poster readily admits taking the cat, but that it was purely accidental.
The poster goes on to explain a little about Django’s traits, stating that he’s got sleepy eyes and looks like he might be stoned, but probably isn’t. My guess is that if the cat is stoned, there is a little more that the accidental burglar isn’t telling us. If Django has already been returned to his owners, I hope that they were smart enough to let the thief spend a little time cleaning up the mess before they took him back.
On a positive note, at least the accidental pet perp didn’t drive home. I do wonder though why, if the cat was found on the way home, wouldn’t he just take it back to where he got it? No harm no foul, right? As of press time there is no update on Django’s current status or the state of his digestive tract.
