Gaga, Kelly, & Celebrity Bullying

I rarely feel sorry for rich famous skinny celebrities, cuz while yes they presumably have real problems like real people, they live such a pampered wealthy existence I figure screw ‘em, they’ve got the occasional bit of trouble coming. I especially feel unsympathetic when they take all the goodwill and opportunity in the world and just piss it away (hello Lindsay Lohan!).

And let’s face it, celebrity cat-fights are just fun (WINNING!).

This weekend however, there were two celebs feuding who I actually feel sort of bad for… musical titan Lady Gaga and Ozzy offspring Kelly Osbourne.

The sad part is that these stupid, good-hearted people are both outspoken advocates for the disenfranchised, for women, for gays, and against bullying.

What happened? Kelly said Gaga’s fanatic fans cyber-bully her; Gaga responded on Facebook that Kelly bullies people on her show with Joan Rivers, Fashion Police; Kelly’s mother, talk show host Sharon Osbourne, lashed out at Gaga for bullying Kelly publicly (rather than privately?), attacking her for wearing fur and meat; Gaga responded that she replied to an open letter with an open letter and was trying to end bullying; Kelly came out and says she loves Gaga, and has no control over her mother (whew, that recap was exhausting, how does that Cliff guy do it?).

And oh yeah, while Kelly may say she loves Gaga, she has previously slammed her many times, including saying she looked pregnant and was a “butter face”. So kinda bitchy, but she is on Fashion Police after all.

So these two well-meanging celebs, A-list Gaga and C-list Osbourne, are both anti-bullying advocates who are out there beating each other up in public… uh, irony people? Or hypocrisy?

Yes Fashion Police is kind of mean but it’s funny and it’s not cruel, so don’t watch if you don’t like it.  And yes Gaga wore meat, and wears lots of weird artistic crap, so what? It is up to her. Maybe you two should smarten the eff up and stop beating up each other and work towards actually making the world a better place. And oh yeah stop wearing meat, it’s gross.

  1. with the crap Kelly took during her less healthy days, you would think she’s be more sensitive, especially to someone who’s struggled with eating disorders, like Guh Gah.

    • Valid point… these two (like all of us) have been thru their share of stuff, and should have learned more from their own experiences… and should be kinder.

  2. Here’s an idea: treat people the way you want to be treated. This might eliminate the Gaga / Kelly / Sharon saga. It might also eliminate TV programs such as Fashion Police (and more).

    • Agreed on treating people the way you want to be treated…

And I also think Fashion Police and other shows like that are totally ok as long as they focus on the clothes (or whatever) and don’t get too personal or nasty. Nothing wrong with fluffy entertainment…

  3. These women scare me.

    Seriously.

  4. Darn… I thought meat wearing was in… Guess I’ll go change now… Seriously, I think they love the attention.

    • Ha! I think poultry wearing is more on trend this season…!

And yes I think that is part of it for sure — if this was a real squabble, couldn’t they talk about it in private like mature adults? Oh yeah, they are celebrities not mature adults…
