If I’ve learned anything from the Internet, it’s that people really love their cats. As in, dress them up, take a thousand photos of them, really, really, really, love their cats. But I had no idea people would kill for their cats. Audrey Deen Miller, of Harris County, Texas, loves her cat that much.
Miller, who has numerous dogs and cats, would do anything for her beloved babies, including protecting them if harm ever came their way. Tuesday morning, Miller and her husband were fighting, when he threatened to shoot one of her cats with a pellet gun. So Miller did what any sane pet owner would do. She pulled out a .40-caliber semiautomatic handgun, and shot her husband in the stomach.
Miller was arrested at her home, and her husband was rushed to the hospital where we underwent surgery for his wounds. He’s in stable condition, and she is facing aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges.
The real victim here, the cat, is reportedly doing fine, though, I’m sure he’s understandably distraught over this whole situation.

I don’t see the problem. I’d shoot the dude too.

I don’t know if I’d go as far as shooting my husband, but I would stop him. But that’s because I’m a sucker for animals.

I don’t own a gun, so I don’t see myself shooting anyone. but you threaten my pet, I will hurt you.

I’m not sure I could shoot anyone unless they were going to harm my children. Of course if someone forms that close of an attachment with their animals that they become their children it’s possibly it seemed logical at the time. It doesn’t make it right, but it at least makes it understandable. Perhaps not to the husband?
