In Russia, Zoo Goes to You

I’m going to admit, right off the bat, that finding a lion and playing with it for a day is like one of my top ten animal related day dreams, so when I came across this article, I was mostly jealous. A lion cub on its way to a zoo, was found by some school children and kept in a gym for a day. WHY COULDN’T MY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BE COOL???? We only got a petting zoo that one time and I got bitten by a snake. Now that we’ve gone over what not to give for Xmas, let’s put tiny lion cub for a day on the what to give list!

Mmmmmm, small children are tender and meaty.

I think it’s so cool that these kids got to experience this day in their lives. It seems like the teachers were really laid back as well. I mean, can you imagine this happening here? They would’ve hit the panic button and the cub would’ve been shot on site by police. Won’t somebody think of the children? The precious, delicate children who are probably allergic to cats and anyway should be subjected to dangerous wild animals!

These kids will have  this story to tell for the rest of their lives. The only thing I found disturbing about the story was that one kid tried to ride the lion. That kid deserves to be eaten by lions. I hope the teacher dropped him back down to two finger only petting.

  1. I WANT A BABY LION!

ahem. sorry. got a little carried away there. I am so jealous of those kids.

    • You are not alone! I want a baby lion, too! But, just for a day.

    • Also, I have to tell you, my kids go around quoting that joke (and making new ones (In Soviet Russia, TV watches you!) all the freaking time. It about drove me mad while we were on vacation last summer.

  2. I bet half of those kids went home that day, looked at their house cats and went, “PFFT!”

  3. My hands are full with a new puppy, man I could not handle one of those… but for a day, man that would have been the best school day ever!

  4. Pretty damned cool. One must wonder, however, how well the lion will be cared for if it was FOUND by kids. Mayhap they should have left it at the school and just built a pen!!
