Times are tough, y’all. Just how tough? Well, New Zealand hookers are having to beef up their advertising. Simply walking the streets in a short skirt and thigh high hooker boots, a la Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, just doesn’t cut it anymore.
In today’s economy, you’ve got to work hard for your money, and it isn’t easy. But, prostitutes in New Zealand have come up with a solution. They have started pole dancing on the sidewalk to attract customers. The bad thing is, they’re using street signs to do the dancing, and apparently doing damage. More than 40 poles have been damaged in the last 18 months. Poles are bent, buckled, or broken, and it’s costing taxpayers thousands of dollars to repair and replace the signs.
Donna Lee, an elected official, said in an interview with The Telegraph,
The poles are part of their soliciting equipment and they often snap them… Some of the prostitutes are big, strong people.
Oh snap, I think she called some of the hookers fat.
Officials haven’t been able to confirm that it is, in fact, the pole dancing prostitutes who are damaging street signs, but they’re definitely betting on it. Personally I think they should have proof before they go pointing fingers and calling prostitutes fat for no reason. Hookers have feelings too, you know.
