Since the recent grand jury report came out, almost everyone knows about the exploits of Jerry Sandusky, former Penn State University assistant coach and pedophile extraordinaire. He’s been charged with 40 counts of sexual abuse against young boys over 15 years and the whole mess has just been getting uglier and uglier. Hardly a day goes by without some new sordid story coming out in connection to this scandal.
So how does one man get away with 15 years of child sexual abuse? Could everyone really have turned a blind eye so easily because he helped win football games? Stupid question, I know. History is rife with stories like Sandusky’s. People who have gotten away with the most heinous acts because of their position, or wealth, or ability. One obvious answer as to how they go under the radar for so long, though, is that these “people” (if they can even be considered human) always have seem to have the right “friends” in the right places to help them along the way.
We’ve already seen how heads have been rolling all over the place since Sandusky was charged. Allegations of a cover up have surfaced and a lot of Penn State officials aren’t looking too pretty right now. But it looks like this isn’t just contained within the confines of the University.
Just a few days ago, radio host, Mark Madden dropped this bomb:
I hear there’s a rumor that there will be a more shocking development from the Second Mile Foundation — and hold on to your stomachs, boys, this is gross, I will use the only language I can — that Jerry Sandusky and Second Mile were pimping out young boys to rich donors
Are you swearing yet? If this rumor turns out to be true, and I’ll not be too surprised if it is, then it looks Sandusky is only the tip of the iceberg. Hold on to your stomachs, indeed.
Still, with all the fallout, it seems like people are willing to stick their neck out for him. Yesterday a report came out that Judge Leslie Dutchcot, who granted Sandusky the unsecured bail in the amount of $100,000 has ties to Sandusky. The report says that she’s actually a volunteer in Sandusky’s Second Mile charity.
No! There’s no conflict there. Nuh-Uh!
But that’s not all. It looks like Sandusky really seems to know how to pick his company. There’s yet another new report coming out that his defense attorney, 63-year-old Joe Amendola is being accused of impregnating a teenager back in the mid-90′s. I’ll give you a moment. I think I need it for myself too…
All that may be necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing, but evil’s job gets a lot easier when it has friends to help it along the way.

Excellent post.
And the more dirt that comes out with this sick dude, the more Joe Pa looks like a complete and total moron for sitting on his hands. What’s worse, Paterno’s actions or the actions of the entire Penn State community for their support and misguided adoration even after finding out about why he was fired?

They all dropped the ball on this (no pun intended).Sadly, I wouldn’t be surprised if there really is more dirt still to come out.

Did you hear of the high school that would allow Sandusky to check out a young boy out of school often? His parents didn’t know. HOW THE HELL DOES THAT HAPPEN.
I think I need to learn a few more swear words. The one’s I have are being over used.

Calling it misguided trust is an understatement.

Boystown et al. Here in Europe too. Let us all be concerned, denounce those lost souls and help their victims as much as we can. At least, let us not forget. Peace and Justice WILL come.
