Thanks For Your Sperm, Now Give Us Your Money

This seems like such a rough road for such a generous person. So willing to give his precious sperm for the good of a couple wanting a baby. The donor wants nothing in return but the satisfaction that he helped another

Or…maybe he needed to pay rent so he tossed a few of his best swimmers in the bank for someone’s needed withdrawal.spermie

One particular swimmer giver is now being sued for child support. Why, you ask? Since the couple that used his sperm didn’t go through a doctor to get pregnant, Kansas law states that he now owes the couple some money. Poor William Marotta.

The state says he is responsible for monthly child support payments to a lesbian couple he met on Craig’s List. Upon meeting the couple and agreeing to give his sperm, no money exchanged hands. That’s right. He gave his boys away freely. He signed off his parental rights and figured he was good to go. However, according to court documents, because an insemination was not performed by a licensed doctor, the contract he signed is not valid.

The girl is now 3 years old. The parents are seperated. The court says he owes.

Proof again that nothing good can come from Craig’s List.

  1. If they can go after this guy, who is to say that all men who have donated sperm to a sperm bank aren’t also at risk of being sued for child support? This to me is outrageous, given the fact that he relinquished his parental rights and both mothers stand by the story.

    • If the contract is through the sperm bank, he gives up all rights, right? If the loophole has to do with a licensed doctor, who knew they were unlicensed. Why go through an unlicensed doctor. Too. Many. Questions.

  2. Yeah, I don’t get this. They still entered into an agreement, legally binding or not, with a guy. Had they been looking for cash from day 1 and not 3 years later after the separation, then I could see a case.

    This is strange.

  3. I agree, hence me writing it to get the comments to, hopefully, flow. I want to hear opinions. This guy got screwed every which way but loose.
