Don’t you just love revisionist history? I do. I even practice it at times, we all do. Like when Roger Clemens said about his best friend Andy Pettite, when Andy talked about Clemens alleged steroid use…he misremembered. I suppose misremembering is a form of revisionist history, and this week it was in full force thanks to Ann Romney.
You remember her. Wife of the loser. Apparently she is a sore loser. Instead of taking a long hard look at herself and her husband in the mirror, she has decided it was the fault of the media that they lost the election. Poor Mitt, it seems we picked on him. In an interview with Fox News (where else?) host Chris Wallace, Ann Romney said “I’m happy to blame the media. Anytime you’re running for office, you always think you’re being portrayed unfairly.” um. Then doesn’t that hold true for your opponent? Or did she really think all those things Sean Hannity was saying about Obama on Fox News were really fair and balanced? Ms. Romney went on to say “And of course on our side, we believe that there’s more bias in favor of the other side. I think that’s a pretty universally felt opinion.” I’m so glad she can not only speak for America, but for the universe.
So let’s see.
About the 47% who Mitt said would vote with the president no matter what: “My job is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.” Maybe it’s me, but it sounds like he told almost half of the country he couldn’t give a shit about them.
“I’m not concerned about the very poor. We have a safety net there.” Well, here’s another group of Americans he doesn’t give a shit about either.
During the second presidential debate he stated: “As president, I will create 12 million new jobs.” Less than an hour later he said: “Government does not create jobs. Government does not create jobs.”
There were binders of women, laying off Big Bird, some nonsense about corporations being people, and the fact that he enjoyed firing people who worked for him.
And yet Ann swore “He really is a selfless person that really, truly cared about the American people.” Well, five million more voters thought Obama cared just a little bit more.
Isn’t it time for Fox News to loosen their grip on Ann and Mitt? Isn’t it time for them to go quietly into the night? It IS time. So let me leave you with this inspiration quote from Mitt. It kind of captures the essence of the man.
“Tomorrow we begin a new tomorrow.” Finally something on which we can all agree.

I think it’s sad. when someone is so narcissistic that they can’t see reality, only the reality she’s made for herself so their carefully constructed world view doesn’t come crashing down. so by sad, I mean pathetic.

I also came away from this feeling sad. Another news outlet yesterday reported that Romney stated it “kills him” to think he lost the White House. Now there’s the true mark of an individual who’s never been told no. Losing an election does not kill you. It may suck, but it’s insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Go out and do some good deeds, or perhaps get to know the Americans (like, the 47% and the very poor) that you didn’t win with your amazing comments.

Exactly. And it doesn’t seem to “kill” him that he can’t help the American people, only that he lost to the White House.

Selg-awareness is not something the uber-welathy have or at least use, very often.

Nor do they have awareness of the reality of living in this country for those who are the middle class.
