The bad news is that TV is getting yet another reality competition show. The good news is that we don’t have to watch it, and it will probably disappear into the ether rather quickly. The Taste from ABC is a cooking competition show about to debut.
What may be intriguing is that the rather than your usually gaggle of skinny supermodels who would rather not eat at all, this show features sultry British “queen of food porn” Nigella Lawson. Her own show on the food network is so sultry and beautifully shot, that even a guy like me, who is attracted to neither women nor cooking, has watched it right through.
Nigella has led a notoriously public private life, and has been defiantly proud that she loves food and loves entertaining and does not have the figure of a preteen boy. She is curvy and inspires lust, a very cool combo.
Lawson’s latest move is her SHOCKING refusal to let ABC airbrush the promo shot for The Taste (above). We can see a bit of a tummy on her, which is apparently taboo on the network where serial killers and teenage hookers are just fine.
From her blog: Although it was very thrilling to think of being up on a billboard in LA and around the States, I was very strict and English and told them they weren’t allowed to airbrush my tummy out. Wise? Hmmm. But that tum is the truth and is come by honestly, as my granny would have said.
YAY Nigella! Still don’t think I will be watching though…

Not a big fan of Nigella, but would give the show a try to watch Bourdain. Although, I can’t imagine he’d be any good on network TV, given the censorship that would have to take place.

Yep, agreed, Bourdain can be entertaining in a nasty “you are all morons” kind of way… and should likely be on cable so he can swear and be colourful as he is prone to be!

I saw Bourdain tweet something about this show, so I tuned in. Then I saw it was a a reality show and I tuned out. I don’t think I’m missing much.

I’m not watching the show either and, though I’ve never heard of or seen her? Good for her and, frankly, as a guy that IS into chicks? She’s pretty cute… and so is that tummy!
