This World AIDS Day China Made Sex Awkward For Everybody.

As I’m sure most of you are aware, Saturday was World Aids Day. As is the case every December 1, many nations around the world dedicate this day to the raising awareness about the AIDS virus and the infection responsible for its spread, HIV. This year a new event was launched in China in observance of World Aids Day. This year they hosted their first ever masturbation contest.

Dubbed the “Wankathon” by its creators, Chinese sex toy maker Aihuirun.com, the contest was intended to promote safe and risk-free sex. If I’m to understand the concept, the idea is self pleasure is the safest form of sex since, obviously, you can’t give the disease to yourself. Right?

The contest, which took place in a secluded, wooded area featured ten male contestants standing side-by-side and wearing masks and sunglasses. Their privates were carefully concealed behind bright orange buckets they held in their free hands, while they… um… “competed” with their other hands.

HEY!!! Eyes front, buddy!

To help things along, scantily clad models posed with a blow-up doll and sex toys. You know. To keep things from getting weird.

Yes it’s okay, ladies. You can hang your heads in shame.

I don’t know if the self love angle is the most effective way of promoting safe sex, but one thing I can say about this competition is it probably made the idea of sex so awkward for the competitors that they never want to have sex again.

  1. As this is the type of story which always gets my attention, I actually had this bookmarked for future use…er reference. Was there anything remotely arousing with any of these women or the blow-up doll, who must have been drunk from the wine they poured over her boobs, because the women needed to hold her up…right?? And that’s all they did…not exactly stimulating. ugh, I watched both of the videos and the music alone is a mood killer.

There were so many questions left unanswered. Like when the first guy was done, did they call a halt to the competition? That might be a bit uncomfortable for the losers. Being this was sponsored by a sex toy manufacturer, you would think the female demonstrators would have an idea of what to do with the toys. And, what was the prize for being the first jackass to jack off?

And you’re right, except for the apparent “winner,” even with the masks on, they all looked like they wanted to be somewhere else. On an ew scale of 1 to 10, this is off the wank-o-meter.

    • I debated with myself about including the videos. Aside from the fact that the sex toys & naked sex doll made them both NSFW, the music was the deal-breaker for me.
