Not getting what you expect, especially when you’re shelling out hard-earned cash for it, can be disappointing. A lot of times this happens when unscrupulous individuals practice things like false advertising to give us unrealistic expectations about the product or service we’re looking to acquire.
Of course, there are authorities we can go to for redress, but they don’t always have the means to help us. Some things are simply out of their hands. Such was the case when a British man called the England’s 999 emergency hotline to lodge a complaint to the West Midlands police. What was his problem, you may ask? Well, apparently, the prostitute he agreed to meet with did not meet his expectations. If fact, he went so far as to describe the woman as “ugly“.
It all started when the 999 operator got the call at around 7:30 last Tuesday night. The prospective john had previously arranged via phone to meet with a protitute at a hotel. However, when he got there and had a look at her, he realized that the discription she had given him was not what he was seeing. It’s always like that, isn’t it?
This is likely when things took a more heated turn, as the report continues that the hooker took his car keys stormed off and threw them at him. People tend to get a little upset when you call them ugly, I guess.
Feeling dissatisfied, he did what any disappointed consumor would do and reached out to the authorities. He insisted the prostitute in question was in breach of the Sale of Goods Act for “making herself out to be better looking than she was” and that she should be made to answer for that misrepresentation. Unfortunately, the authorities he had the balls to reach out to (The police) weren’t of the same opinion of the state of his complaint.
The cops were so shocked, in fact, they did what anyone else would do and shared the story on Twitter:
Unbelievable… man just reported a ‘lady of the night’ for breaching Sale of Goods Act with her looks. Sergeant reshaping the man’s attitude.
By “reshaping the man’s attitude” they most likely meant the warning issued to him for wasting police time. This was probably because soliciting a hooker was an illegal act in the first place and he probably should not have called them about it. A fact that, up until that point, seemed to have totally eluded the disgruntled john.
Sometimes it’s best to just cut your losses and move on, I guess.
